Margaret Meierhenry
Soprano
Margaret “Margo” Meierhenry, soprano, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and a recent graduate of DePaul University’s vocal performance master’s, There she studied under Dr. Viktoria Vizin. She holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts from the University of South Dakota (2023). In 2025, she made her professional debut as an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera, Performing Una Donna in Le Nozze di Figaro and singing in the choruses of Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Le Nozze di Figaro, and Stiffelio. That summer, she covered Nedda in Opera Festival of Chicago’s production of Pagliacci.
With a passion for portraying strong female heroines, some of Meierhenry’s favorite roles include Blanche in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites at the Festival of International Opera in Urbania, Italy; Eliza in Nico Muhly’s Dark Sisters with DePaul Opera Theatre; Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica; and the title role in Handel’s Alcina both with the University of South Dakota. Her honors include multiple American Prize awards in opera performance (2021–2024), a 2022 Latin Grammy nomination for her solo in El Río de Agua, and recognition as the 2025 winner of both the North Shore Musicians Club Competition and the Casa Italia Scholarship Competition.
